En la tarde del jueves 6 de febrero se hizo efectiva en Puerto Carre\u00f1o de Colombia, la captura del gobernador de Vichada, Alex Benito Castro, luego de que la Corte Suprema de Justicia confirmara la condena a 93 meses de prisi\u00f3n, proferida por el Tribunal Superior de Villavicencio en septiembre de 2023.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Seg\u00fan inform\u00f3 Noticia Caracol, este viernes Benito ser\u00e1 trasladado a Bogot\u00e1 para la lectura del fallo condenatorio.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Benito fue condenado a\u00a0m\u00e1s de siete a\u00f1os de prisi\u00f3n\u00a0por el delito de\u00a0peculado por apropiaci\u00f3n, relacionado con irregularidades en la construcci\u00f3n de un puente sobre el ca\u00f1o G\u00fcichire en 2012, cuando era alcalde de Santa Rosal\u00eda. Se demostr\u00f3 que desvi\u00f3 recursos p\u00fablicos al contratar la obra de manera irregular, sin un proceso licitatorio formal, y pag\u00f3 sumas excesivas por la construcci\u00f3n, generando un detrimento patrimonial al municipio. La Corte Suprema confirm\u00f3 la condena, ratificando su responsabilidad en el caso de corrupci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Decenas de personas se han solidarizado con Benito y su familia en redes sociales por el hecho que hoy lo tiene en la puerta de una c\u00e1rcel. Adem\u00e1s, esta tarde realizaron una eucarist\u00eda y una velat\u00f3n en su nombre, en el centro de Puerto Carre\u00f1o. En Santa Rosal\u00eda, municipio del cual es oriundo Benito, la Alcald\u00eda promovi\u00f3 una misa y una marcha en horas de la tarde,\u00a0para respaldar al exmandatario.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
